Directing, Devising, Performing -- Sophie Treadwell's Machinal
COURSE DESCRIPTION: 307 (for 1-3 credits)
307 is a course for students who want to perform and work with the directing class on their weekly assignments. An interdisciplinary group of students is sought for the class - music and visual art students interested in live performance as well as theater students across a spectrum of interest from the technical arts to acting to media studies. You will work with the Directing Class on Sophie Treadwell’s MACHINAL which will be developed over the course of the semester, and culminate in a staging in May 2014.
Students will be required to come to approx. one class a week (see dates below) and work outside the class with the directors on weekly assignments. The class is in Theatre 3 from 1-3pm. Participation in the final showing is also required.
