About the Program
Mälardalen University is a medium sized regional university. It has two campuses:
one in the city of Västerås, located on the north side of lake Mälaren and the other
one in Eskilstuna, on the south side of the lake, about 40 km apart. Both cities are
situated in the very heart of Sweden, and 100 km to the west of Stockholm. The campuses
contain some of the most modern university buildings in Sweden, centrally situated
with well-equipped classrooms, computer provision for students, libraries and laboratories.

Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.
Cost Comparison: The average cost for a full time Stony Brook Student including tuition, insurance, housing, and meal plan is approximately $10,445 in-state and $15,735 out-of-state.
Grades earned in an exchange program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
