About the Program
Ewha Womans University is the highest ranked private university in Korea. The co-ed
international exchange program is open to students without prior knowledge of Korean.
Instruction in English with intensive Korean language study possible. Fields of study
include anthropology, archeology, architecture, business, economics, fine, visual,
and performing arts, history, humanities, interior design, language study, linguistics,
literature, philosophy, religion, and social sciences. Students with sufficient Korean
are permitted to take courses in Korean.
Course of Study
This is an exchange program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their Exchange Advisor.

|Tuition Rate||$3,235 per semester for NY residents ; $11,855 per semester for non-residents|

|Administrative Fee||$200 (non-refundable)|
|International Health Insurance||$55 per month approximately. Note: The host university may also require a domestic health plan, and will send details regarding costs to students directly.|
$2,950-$4,750 (approximately; Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university)
$1,450-$1,850 (approximately; Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs)
Costs are estimates for planning purposes of the student and are subject to change at any point.
Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.
Cost Comparison: The average cost for a full time Stony Brook Student including tuition, insurance, housing, and meal plan is approximately $10,445 in-state and $15,735 out-of-state.
Grades earned in an exchange program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
Students may be restricted from taking certain courses (not all!)
offered by the Education, Art, Music Departments.
