About the Program

The program offers regular university courses in chemistry, economics, history, linguistics, mathematics, philosophy, physics, psychology, and sociology. Additional fields of study include computer science, ecology, humanities, information technology, language study, literature, religion, and social sciences. Limited number of courses available in English. Scholarships available to qualified students. The University of Konstanz is situated on the banks of Lake Constance which is the border between Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It houses over 10,000 students from over 90 nations and is rooted in internationalism.

Candidates may be interviewed to determine their qualifications for participating and representing Stony Brook University abroad.

Tuition Rate $ 3,335 per semester for NY residents ; $12,090 per semester for non-residents

Administrative Fee

$200 (non-refundable)

International Health Insurance

$55 per month approximately. Note: The host university may also require a domestic health plan, and will send details regarding costs to students directly.

Other Fees

$4,360 (approximately; Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university)

Travel Costs

$980-$1,380 (approximately; Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs)

Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.

Grades earned in an exchange program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.

Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
