About the Program
A city on the move, in the heart of economic, social, and cultural changes, the University
Lumiere Lyon 2 is a premier university in France for research. Midway between the sea and the mountains, Lyon boasts of a remarkable natural heritage
with sites as different as the Pilat Regional Natural Park and the Monts du Lyonnais
close by. University Lumière Lyon 2 attaches great significance to international exchanges,
making 15% of students at the university foreign students. Students may study Arts, Languages, Social Sciences, Humanities, Economics, Political
Sciences, and Law. Students directly enroll in academic courses instructed in French.

Course of Study
The program will have a broad selection of courses. Students will also have the opportunity to interact and make friends with their peers from around the globe.
Please click the "View Course Information" button towards the bottom of the page to view the updated course listing published by the partner university. Participants enroll in regular university classes, however some disciplines may have restrictions.
This is an exchange program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their Exchange Advisor.

$3,235 per semester for NY residents;
$11,855 per semester for non-residents

|International Health Insurance||
$55 per month approximately. Note: The host university may also require a domestic health plan, and will send details regarding costs to students directly.
$3,600 - $4,300 (approximately; Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university)
$1,500 - $1,700 (approximately; Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs)
Costs are estimates for planning purposes of the student and are subject to change at any point.
Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.
Cost Comparison: The average cost for a full time Stony Brook Student including tuition, insurance, housing, and meal plan is approximately $10,445 in-state and $15,735 out-of-state.
Grades earned in an exchange program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
