About the Program
The International Summer School I (ISSI) program at the University of Seoul (UOS)
was first established in 2000, and provides international students with a great opportunity
to learn about Korean culture and tradition. Reorganized in 2005, the ISS has been
receiving increased funding from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and offers various
incentives to participants coming from not only the partner universities but also
many prestigious universities over the world. Choose from a wide range of courses
in various disciplines including International relations, Business, Economics, History,
Urban-Society, and Korean Language.
Free excursions and cultural activities are included for exchange students. Registration fee is waived and the University of Seoul will cover partial expenses for exchange students that participate in the Jeju Island excursion.

Course of Study
*6 undergraduate credits required
The program will have a broad selection of courses, along with local excursions and cultural activities available for International Summer Exchange participants. Students will also have the opportunity to interact and make friends with their peers from around the globe. *Please note these arrangements and additional fees involved are coordinated directly with the partner university.

This is an exchange program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their Exchange Advisor.

Independent Arrangement (Dormitory style residence coordinated directly with the partner university).
March 1 (*Deadline extended to April 10)
$270 per credit for NY residents;
$988 per credit for non-residents

Included in the Program Fee
$2,500 (approximately; Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university)
$1,800 (approximately; Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs)
Costs are estimates for planning purposes of the student and are subject to change at any point.
Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.
Grades earned in an exchange program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
