About the Program
Gunma University offers a unique opportunity with their Chemistry Department to promote student exchanges with Stony Brook University. Gunma University (GU) is located near the northern boundary of the Kanto Plain, approximately
100 km northwest of Tokyo. GU is also surrounded by the three majestic peaks, Mts.
Akagi, Haruna and Myogi.
*Applicants must be enrolled in Stony Brook University, College of Arts and Sciences as a sophomore, junior, or senior in the Chemistry department.
Course of Study
Participants take chemistry courses with labs, attend experiments and research for 6 weeks.

This is an exchange program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their Exchange Advisor.

$2,000 (approximately; Upon acceptance, students will purchase flight tickets individually. Students are encouraged to book early to secure the best price.)
Costs are estimates for planning purposes of the student and are subject to change at any point.
Grades earned in an exchange program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
