Required dorm check out by 4PM for students attending only one semester Wed, May 17, 2017

How To Submit Your Application:

Phase One: Before acceptance you must provide the following documents.
*Note: Completion of phase one is due April 1st for Fall and October 15th for Spring

Complete online application “ApplyYourself” and upload the following documents:
  1. Study Statement: A one page, typed Study Statement uploaded through Apply Yourself.

  2. Passport: Upload a clear copy of the information page of your passport.

  3. TOEFL (if applicable): Exchange/Visiting students must have a minimum of 80 IBT or 6.5 IELTS. Upload a clear image of your unexpired proficiency score.

  4. Home University Transcripts: Upload a clear image of your home university transcripts.

Phase Two: Upon submission of your completed application, you will receive an admission decision via email. If accepted, your Stony Brook University ID number and additional instructions will be sent to you via email.

Financial Support: International students admitted to our exchange/visiting program must show proof of financial support so that Stony Brook University can issue Certificate of visa Eligibility either for F-1 or J-1 status. Proof can be in the form of a bank letter or an original bank statement which states your name or your sponsor's name in English. Documents must be dated within 6 months of term start date. These documents should be uploaded electronically via Stony Brook University's database system (AccessVIS). Instructions are provided via email on how to submit the financial documents. In addition to this you must fill out the Stony Brook University Health Form:

All students should complete the health form and submit it through AccessVIS Click Here. Please keep the originals for future reference.

*Note that this can be completed upon arrival through SBU Student Health Service; however enrollment into courses may be affected. Download the most current Health Form and Immunization Form from the Student Health Service website here.
