Meet the E-Learning Staff

Davinder Kaur

 

Davinder Kaur, Assistant Dean

Davinder Kaur is the Assistant Dean for the Office of E-Learning within the School for Professional Development (SPD).  She has a background in project management as well as designing and teaching online, hybrid and face-to-face classes.  Within her role as Assistant Dean, Davinder is focused on supporting the development and delivery of quality programs in various modalities to increase student engagement and success.  She has taught online classes for over six years in addition to the development, assessment and support of online and hybrid courses.  Davinder holds a master’s degree in Project Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management and is currently enrolled in the Curriculum, Instruction, and Science of Learning Ph.D. program at the University of Buffalo.  She also holds specialized industry certifications from the Quality Matters organization and the Online Learning Consortium.

Kristy Bunton

 

Kristy Bunton, Instructional Technologies & E-Learning Specialist

Kristy Bunton is the Instructional Technologies & E-Learning Specialist for the Office of E-Learning within the School for Professional Development (SPD) since 2008 assisting both students and faculty.  Kristy also teaches and has development experience with fully online and hybrid courses. She holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Stony Brook University.  She provides support for students and faculty in the use of the learning management system as well as instructions technologies to support teaching and learning for online, face-to-face, and hybrid/blended courses.  She also holds specialized industry certifications from both the Quality Matters organization and the Online Learning Consortium.

Kathy Mitra

Kathy Mitra, E-Learning Faculty Support Specialist

Kathy Mitra is the E-Learning Faculty Support Specialist for the Office of E-Learning within the School for Professional Development (SPD).  Kathy earned an M.A. in Anthropology from Indiana University and started her career working as a curator and educator in the museum field.  In 2001 she earned a M.S. in Educational Computing from Stony Brook University, and started teaching online for the Liberal Studies program.  Since then she has developed and taught online courses in Cultural Anthropology for Stony Brook University, Suffolk County Community College, and Southern New Hampshire University.  She works with faculty on development of instructional content used to support online, face-to-face, and hybrid/blended courses.

Stephen Z Schneider

Stephen Schneider, EdD, E-Learning Faculty Training Specialist

Stephen Schneider is the E-Learning Faculty Training Specialist for the Office of E-Learning within the School for Professional Development (SPD). He has over fifty years of experience in education, including: fourteen years as a high school classroom teacher, a junior/senior high school principalship, associate dean in a community college and in a university, over thirty-six semesters of adjunct teaching in a community college, twelve semesters as a university instructor, ten years as a Director of Adult Vocational, Literacy and Contract Training for a consortium of school districts and thirteen years as an university online instructor. Dr. Schneider engages and supports faculty to design and develop effective courses for online, face-to-face, and hybrid/blended modalities.  He also holds specialized industry certifications from the Quality Matters organization
