 2017 Regeneron STS Scholars include Simons Fellows Annette Chang who worked with Dr. Carlos Simmerling in Chemistry; Aurnov Chattopadhyay and Jessica Tian who worked with Dr. Benjamin Hsiao in Chemistry;  Veda Murthy who worked with Dr. Dimitris Samaras in Computer Science; Kirti Nath who worked with Dr. Anne McElroy of SoMAS; Emily Peterson who worked with Dr. Marcia Simon of the Dental School and Dr. Miriam Ravailoich of Materials Science & Engineering; Ben Rhee who worked with Dr. Brian Colle in SoMAS; Arjun Subramaniam who worked with Dr. Tom MacCarthy of Applied Mathematics & Statistics; and Ruisi Zhong who worked with Dr. David Talmage of Pharmacological Sciences and Dr. Lorna Role of Neurobiology. We also congratulate Eric Han, Apoorv Khandelwal, Sophia Li, Praharshasai Paladugu, Aakanksha Saxena and Alec Sun for being named Regeneron STS Scholars, based on STS research projects done elsewhere. Regeneron STS Finalists include Apoorv Khandelwal, Emily Peterson, Arjun Subramaniam, Alec Sun, and Jessica Tian.

Recent Simons Fellows 
honored at the Intel ISEF competition include: Justin Barish (Systems Software); Scott Mass (Cellular & Molecular Biology); Vaishnavi Shrivastava (Biomedical and Health Sciences); and Glenn Yu (Biochemistry). Glenn will be coming back to Stony Brook to attend the Stony Brook Symposium on Chemical Synthesis in Life Sciences where his mentor, Prof. Ojima, will be honored.
