Stony Brook University Logo and Stony Brook Cares

Please Give to Our Stony Brook Cares Campaign

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I write to you in my role as Board President for Literacy Suffolk, Inc. I am proud that we are one of the campus organizations highlighted in this year's SEFA campaign. Begun in 1978, Literacy Suffolk effects countywide change by improving individual adult literacy skills for non-English speakers and persons who are defined as functionally illiterate. We provide free confidential student-centered one-to-one and small group literacy tutoring and recruit volunteer literacy tutors. We offer suport for tutors and students through conversation groups, tutor support groups, and in-service training. View a video about how the Literacy Suffolk transforms the lives of individuals. families and communities throughout Suffolk County.

If you wish to speak with me personally, please feel free to call me at 444-2341.

Thank you for supporting the SEFA campaign and Literacy Suffolk (Listed as Literacy Volunteers of America, Suffolk County) 6500168.
