Our Commitment to Addressing Discrimination and Sexual Harassment
To All Faculty and Staff,
In the most recent University Senate meeting the topic of harassment was discussed and I feel it is important that all members of the Stony Brook community have the benefit of that conversation and be reminded of our values and our processes.
With the critically important discussion around all aspects of harassment occurring in our society today, I want to reaffirm Stony Brook University's zero tolerance for discrimination, including sexual misconduct, in any form. We have worked hard to put in place a robust process to address unlawful discrimination and harassment. If you are aware of specific instances occurring, I strongly urge you to encourage those involved to contact the Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity for both support and investigation.
There is no place for harassment in our society or at our university. We must continue to work together to ensure that our community standards and policies are enforced and that Stony Brook University is a welcoming place for all.
Best to you in the new year.
