Enhance your teaching skills and work on your teaching statement for jobs by enrolling in the online summer course, Scientists Teaching Science. This nine-week, online course features a specially negotiated flat rate of $200 for SBU graduate students and postdocs.

Lab Mentoring Workshop - Sponsored by SBU Chemistry Department

Want to improve your mentoring and lab leadership skills? Want to learn how to provide a meaningful research experience to a new student in the lab, while still finding time to get your own research work done? Want to develop clear expectations for the students you are mentoring as well as for yourself as a mentor? Come to the Lab Mentoring Workshop, June 4th at 12 noon.
This workshop is meant for graduate students and postdocs who are or will be mentoring new students (grad, undergrad, or high school) in the lab. It will focus on goals for the research experience, tools for effective and efficient mentoring, and how to develop independence in new researchers.
Bring a bag lunch. Drinks and cookies will be provided.
