Join us to celebrate National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) this September 15-19, 2014. NPAW is the fifth annual celebration honoring postdocs and recognizing the contributions they make to research and development in the United States. Stony Brook University will hold several events to commemorate NPAW. See details below!

What is NPAW?
National  Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) is September 15-19, 2014. NPAW, the nation’s largest celebration of postdoctoral scholars, was established with the goal of increasing awareness of postdocs. Institutions are encouraged to plan activities that honor postdocs and recognize the contributions they make to research and development in the United States. In 2013, 264 events were hosted at 108 institutions in 36 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. NPAW grew out of National Postdoc Appreciation Day, which was held on September 24, 2009. In 2010, NPAW culminated with the passage of H.RES. 1545 by the U.S. House of Representatives.
