To All Students, Faculty, and Staff:

The University Police Department continues its investigation into an individual who may possibly have a weapon although one was not seen or displayed.  The area of Chapin Apartments has been thoroughly searched and there is no danger in that area at this time.

University Police are currently searching for a vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Yaris, bearing Texas license plates #JPM6320, possibly driven by a white male in his mid 20's. The vehicle and occupant are believed to have left campus.

Anyone who sees this vehicle or has information should call 631-632-3333 from campus or 911 if off campus.

Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

The University Police Department is conducting an ongoing police investigation in the vicinity of Chapin Apartments regarding a possible male with a gun, please stay away from area.

Chapin residents - please shelter in place until further notice.
