A children’s chorus recruited from local schools will join the Stony Brook Opera cast for this production of Humperdinck’s beloved classic Hansel and Gretel in a new chamber version by Kathy Kelly. The opera will be sungin English, and the accompaniment will be an ensemble of flute, clarinet, horn, string quartet and piano. Conducted by Timothy Long and directed by JJ Hudson.

STONY BROOK OPERA PRESENTS HANDEL’S ORLANDO

We are thrilled to present Handel’s 1733 masterpiece, Orlando, a work already known to New York area audiences through New York City Opera’s highly successful production in 2004. The opera will be sung in the original Italian language, with projected titles in English. The Stony Brook Baroque players will perform on period instruments. Conducted by Arthur Haas and directed by Guillaume Bernardi.
