ABOUT THE CAMP
Join Brian Hough, founder of the Potsdam Pointercounts and Director of Choral Music at Centereach High School, for a week-long summer music camp that will focus on developing vocal performance skills. Students accepted into the camp will be placed in a mixed a cappella group. Each day of the camp, participants will received guided coaching and take part in daily workshops/demonstrations led by Brian Hough and members of the four major Stony Brook University a cappella ensembles. The camp will culminate with a final performance at the Staller Center Recital Hall that will be open to the public.
The camp is open to students entering 9th grade and older, including recently graduated high school seniors.
Each participant selected must agree to be available for all sessions. A cohesive a cappella group can not be developed unless all members are present, therefore, absences will not be allowed.
There is no fee to apply. Simply click the button below and complete the online form.
Please note: if you are auditioning for the 2014-15 Stony Brook Pre-College vocal program, you will need a separate audition for the summer camp.
You will be asked to performed the Star Spangled Banner and a song of your choice. The audition will be approximately 5 minutes long.
