ITALIAN LITERATURE IN TRANSLATION. Ciardi listed on title page as author of the introductory essay: "Translation: The Art of Failure." Others listed on title page, presumably as compilers, are James Miller, Robert O'Neal, and
Helen McDonnell. Following the Ciardi essay is a passage from Canto XXIV by Dante, then Ciardi's translation, and finally, the Longfellow translation of the same canto. Paperback.
