Classes for the Community
Would you like to speak Italian and learn about Italian culture? Do you have some knowledge of Italian but you would like to learn more? Would you like to retain your language skills by practicing with other students?
If you answered 'yes' to any of the questions above, we have an Italian class for you! The Center for Italian Studies is proud to sponsor our Italian Classes for the Community. These courses are designed to expose students to Italian language and culture according to prior knowledge and individual needs.
Courses and placement are as follows:
Italian 1: Beginning students with little or no knowledge of Italian.
Italian 2: Students with the equivalent of one year of Italian (non-credit course) or one semester of a college Italian.
Italian 3: A follow-up course to Italian 2. Also suitable for students with at least three semesters of non-credit Italian courses or one year of college Italian.
Italian 4: Students with at least three years of non-credit courses or three semesters of college Italian.
FALL 2012 CLASS SCHEDULE & FEES
Classes begin October 9, 2012, and run through April 6, 2013, for an annual fee of $250.00. We are now accepting credit cards.
Classes are available as follows:
John Glenn HS, Elwood: Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Italian 1: Annamaria D'Agostino
John Glenn HS, Elwood: Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Italian 2: Graceanna Maiello.
Stony Brook University: Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Italian 1: Patricia Bologna
Italian 2: Christen Visceglie
Italian 3: Walter Baldi
Italian 4: Donna DiNatale
