 Caren Gough is a lecturer in the Science Education Program. She presently teaches a Methods II class and a seminar for student teachers in the Masters of the Arts of Teaching program. She is also a field supervisor for student teachers.Ms.Gough taught in the public school system for 34 years where she taught at both the Middle School as well as the High School level. During her last 25 years she taught all levels of Biology including AP Biology in the Half Hollow Hills School District. She has also been a member of the New York State Biology Chemistry Professional Development Network. The role of this organization is to provide training for science teachers in the most recent teaching techniques based on current research. As a result of her training Ms. Gough has presented numerous workshops for Living Environment teachers across Long Island.Ms. Gough is also a member of the advisory panel and teacher fellow for several Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory web sites: DNA Interactive (DNAi), The Dolan DNA Lab Center and Genes to Cognition (G2C).   Please check out two of her contributions: Swimming Mice and London Taxi Drivers on the G2C site.

Ms. Gough was the recipient of the Hofstra University / Channel 12 News Teacher of the Month award.
