Braden Hosch is the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness at Stony Brook University where he leads all aspects of institutional research, helps shape policy and planning, and oversees institutional effectiveness efforts. Braden conducts large-scale higher education data benchmarking projects, and he contributes actively to state, regional, national and international efforts to advance quality and accountability in higher education.

In recent years, he has been a leader in international and national initiatives, such as the Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes (AHELO) project and serves as a national IPEDS educator through the Association for Institutional Research (AIR). He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Commission for Information Management and Analysis (CIMA) for the Association of Public Land-grant Universities (APLU), is the Finance Chair of the Steering Committee for the North East Association for Institutional Research (NEAIR), and is the 4-year public university representative to the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative.

He holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a M.A. degree from the University of Texas-Dallas, and a B.A. degree from Swarthmore College.

Theresa Diemer

Theresa Diemer is the Data Manager for the Office of Institutional Research Planning and Effectiveness (IRPE).  She is responsible for maintaining and ensuring that data sources owned by IRPE are valid and robust in order to meet internal and external reporting requirements.  She works with university leaders to understand business rules and operational requirements; ensuring analysts in the IRPE Office and others in the university have access to appropriate data.

Prior to her start in the Office of IRPE in the fall of 2014, she worked for the Department of Campus Residences at Stony Brook University as Lead Programmer Analyst where she was responsible for data management, programming and support of the department’s applications.  

Theresa holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University.  She received her first Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science from SUNY Plattsburgh and her second Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology.  

Andrew Ford, M.S.

Andrew Ford is an Institutional Research Analyst for the Office of Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness (IRPE). He is responsible for providing support to the College of Engineering and Applied Science and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Prior to his start in the Office of IRPE in the summer of 2016, Andrew worked as a New York Senate Fellow for Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, Chair of the NY Senate Committee on Higher Education, where he provided analysis on issues of higher education reform and professions legislation and conducted data analysis that guided budgetary policy for the Committee. He has also worked for the SUNY Research Foundation where he supported functions of Strategy and Planning Department, including managing information databases, assisting in coordinating system-level meetings, and performing research on grants and award contracts.

Andrew holds a Master of Science in Education Administration and Policy Studies, with a concentration in Higher Education Policy, from the University at Albany in 2016.  He received his Bachelors of Arts in History, Political Science, and Globalization Studies from Siena College in 2013, and also completed a non-matriculated course of study at Radboud University Nijmegen, in The Netherlands. 

Nora Galambos, Ph.D.

Dr. Nora Galambos received her MS and PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, funded in part by a scholarship from Brookhaven Women in Science, the women’s science organization at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. She also was awarded a National Center for Education Statistics/Association for Institutional Research fellowship, which funded her Graduate Certificate in Institutional Research from the Pennsylvania State University College of Education. Beginning her Stony Brook career in 1992, Dr. Galambos spent several years working as a statistician in the Medical Center, contributing to medical research studies, co-authoring journal articles and grants, and overseeing data management. Since coming to Institutional Research in 1999, she has worked on Middle States and departmental program accreditations, served as the PI for major surveys, and studied factors associated with programmatic and student outcomes. An expert in a wide array of data analysis methods, Dr. Galambos has given numerous conference presentations encompassing statistical methods and their higher education applications. She frequently serves as a reviewer of papers for national and regional conferences.

Sean V. Hoffman, M.S.

Sean Hoffman is an Institutional Research Analyst for the Office of Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness (IRPE). He is responsible for providing data and analysis to assist the University in benchmarking, reporting, and strategic planning. Sean also serves as a Tableau developer, and the Institution’s primary representative to the Association of American Universities (AAU) Data Exchange.

Sean’s professional interests include student success, strategic analytics, and data visualization techniques. He has presented on data visualization (IR Technologies) at the 2015 and 2016 Association for Institutional Research Annual Forums, and advanced Tableau techniques at the 2016 and 2017 AAU Data Exchange Annual Meetings.

Sean received his M.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, with a concentration in Operations Research from Stony Brook University. He is a proud alumnus of the Spirit of Stony Brook Athletic Bands, and is a member of the Association for Institutional Research and Phi Beta Kappa.

Shaukat Malik is an Associate for Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness (IRPE) at Stony Brook University. He has over 16 years of experience in higher education administration. At Stony Brook, Shaukat conducts internal and external reporting of Stony Brook data to State, federal and private agencies. He also contributes to and manages the IRPE web site.

Shaukat holds both a Master's degree and a PhD in Educational Administration & Policy Studies from the University at Albany. Shaukat is also a member of the Association for Institutional Research and NEAIR
