How to Apply to IRACDA NY-CAPS
The Application Deadline for the 2016 cohort of NY-CAPS Scholars has been extended to Thursday, March 3, 2016.
Start Date: May 2, 2016 (Negotiable)
Step 1: Identify potential research faculty mentors from Stony Brook University: http://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/iracda/howto/mentors.html
Selected mentors and/or departments will be contacted by IRACDA staff to match candidates with their research interests.
Step 2: Submit an online application to the open requisition on the Jobs @ Stony Brook University Website. The following supporting documents must also be submitted as attachments to the online application.
- A document that identifies potential research faculty mentors from Stony Brook University
- CV (including publications, conference participation and teaching experience) and cover letter
- Personal Statement: 1-2 pages highlighting the following
- career goals
- commitment to teaching
- research experience
- teaching experience
- interest/experience working with underrepresented students
- potential Research Mentors
Step 3: Submit 3 Letters of Recommendation: one of these letters must be from your PhD advisor/PI. These may be emailed by their authors directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicant's name should be in the subject heading.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all items are submitted on time.
