About

The Interdepartmental Doctoral Program in Anthropological Sciences (IDPAS) draws upon the strengths of faculty across multiple disciplines to address anthropological research from a broadly comparative perspective. We employ studies of living mammals, the rich archaeological and fossil records, and data on contemporary and past environments to tackle several intersecting anthropological questions: (1) How do humans and nonhuman primates interact with their environments and with one another? (2) How have these interactions shaped the evolution of human bodies, minds and behaviors? (3) How do these dynamic processes influence development, health and fitness?
