PhD Career Pathways at Stony Brook University
Stony Brook joins a national effort to understand the career pathways of our PhD recipients and ensure that our graduate training continues to prepare our students to become the innovators and explorers of tomorrow. Led by the Council of Graduate Schools, with support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the National Science Foundation, the PhD Career Pathways study examines the career aspirations and outcomes of our PhD students and alumni with the goal of continual program improvement. Stony Brook is part of a consortium of SUNY's four University Centers all committed to this effort with support from SUNY's new Chancellor.
Surveys will be administered annually to current second and fifth year PhD students and to alumni PhD recipients who graduated 3, 8, and 15 years previously. These anonymized, aggregated data will inform curricular improvements in Stony Brook's graduate programs, as well as a national effort to understand trends in the PhD workforce.
Keep In Touch
The Graduate School would like to keep in touch with our PhD alumni so that we can invite them to participate in this new data collection initiative. PhD alumni may share their updated contact information, which will only be used internally for alumni tracking purposes, at the link below:
