Under the direction of the Vice President of Government and Community Relations, the Office of Government Relations is Stony Brook University's primary liaison to federal, state and local elected representatives, government agencies and their staff. Through these relationships we are able to share news of the University's progress and breakthroughs of our world-class research in health, science and technology, the academic success for our more than 25,000 students, and Stony Brook's leadership and progress in driving the regional economy. Please visit this website to stay updated on the University's legislative priorities and activities.
We're aware that many faculty, alumni and students advocate on behalf the University. The Government Relations staff is here to assist you. We can help you make appointments, craft your message and help you adhere to appropriate protocols and statutes. Also, please contact our office if you plan to invite government officials to campus so we may ensure compliance with laws regarding "gifts," meals, and widely attended events.
If you have questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
