Live Cooking Demonstration, New Noodle Bowl recipes and Prizes for Students

STONY BROOK, NY, October 4, 2013 – West Side Dining, Stony Brook University’s newest dining location, will host renowned celebrity chef and TV personality, Jet Tila for a live cooking demonstration and autograph signing on Friday, October 11th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Chef Jet Tila is nationally recognized for his culinary expertise in Modern Asian cuisine. Jet Tila has had multiple television appearances on popular culinary shows including; Iron Chef America, Chopped, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, and Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations.

Jet Tila will be performing his live cooking demonstration at West Side Dining’s Eastern Cuisine food platform, where he will teach guests how to cook some of his signature Pan-Asian recipes such as his famous Drunken Noodles, which was quoted by Giada De Laurentiis as being, “one the best things that she ever ate with chopsticks,” on Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate.

“I’m very excited to visit Stony Brook in October” said Chef Jet, “I look forward to collaborating with my friends at Campus Dining Services and to bring some great Southeast Asian flavors to the students.”

Throughout the day, each food platform at West Side Dining will feature a special Jet Tila entrée such as Spicy Szechuan Chicken Wings, General Jet’s Prawns with Oyster Sauce, or Korean BBQ Beef at the carving station. The daily fish special at Bob’s BBQ will be teriyaki marinade salmon with a crisp spring roll and sautéed asparagus. “Jet’s a great chef and I’m excited to have him visiting campus and debuting the noodle bowl recipes that Campus Dining Services will be incorporating into the daily Eastern Cuisine menu,” said Stony Brook Executive Chef John Hutchison, “I know the students are really going to enjoy his personality as well as his food.”
