Social Worker (LCSWR)

Required Qualifications

A license to practice clinical social work (LCSW) in the state of New York with "R" privileges. Training and experience with conducting diagnostic psychological assessments and time-limited individual psychotherapy.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other empirically-support psychotherapy treatment modalities. Experience with providing group psychotherapy. Experience with teaching and providing supervision.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Conducting mental/behavioral health initial evaluations.
  • Providing individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Maintaining documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at Stony Brook University has been undergoing tremendous growth. 

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
