The World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) monitors the physical and mental health
of 9/11 responders living on Long Island. The effort at the WTCHP will primarily involve
clinical care for psychiatric and social problems connected to the emotional and physical
exposures associated with the rescue and response, and the clean-up, of WTC site (approximately
75% of the effort). The remaining time (25%) will be devoted to clinical research,
teaching and administration. Protected time for research will be commensurate with
funding from independent sources.
The Stony Brook University Department of Psychiatry and the Stony Brook Research Foundation
- World Trade Center Health Program is seeking a psychiatrist for our growing integrated
psychiatry program in a variety of primary care settings. The integrated care program
includes a collaborative team of psychiatrists, psychologists, primary care providers,
social workers, RN care coordinators, and case managers who provide comprehensive
services to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include diagnostic evaluations
and treatment recommendations developed in collaboration with the primary care provider.
Opportunities are available for teaching and supervision of medical students, residents
and fellows in both psychiatry and medicine, as well as conducting collaborative clinical
research on integrated care.
Special Notes This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
