Mind/Body Clinical Research Center Psychologist - Clinical Assistant Professor

Required Qualifications

PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program. New York State license or eligibility. Experience with providing time-limited cognitive behavioral treatment and other psychotherapy treatments in line with the evidence-based practice in psychology to adults in outpatient settings.

Preferred Qualifications

Track record of research and teaching experience. Experience with providing clinical supervision. Experience with providing clinical supervision. Experience with providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and/or mindfulness-based treatments.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Mind Body Clinical Research Center (MB-CRC) in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at Stony Brook University seeks a full-time Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical services and contribute to administrative, academic and training activities of the center. The mission of the MB-CRC is to improve the mental and physical health of individuals and communities through providing holistic clinical services, conducting basic and applied cutting-edge research, and training tomorrow's clinical research leaders. The MB-CRC is also a member agency of the Stony Brook University Consortium Training Programs in psychology including a local externship, APA-accredited internship, and post-doctoral program. 

The Clinical Assistant Professor will serve as a Clinical Psychologist in the MB-CRC of Stony Brook University Hospital located in the newly renovated Putnam Hall on the South Campus of Stony Brook University. Responsibilities include direct patient care, including diagnostic evaluations, individual and group psychotherapy; administrative operational activities for the MB-CRC; and teaching/supervision of trainees. Shifts totaling forty hours per week, including the possibility of evening hours. There may be opportunities for program development, clinical research and off-hours work.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
