Clinical Assistant Professor / Clinical Associate Professor

Required Qualifications

Board certification in both Family Medicine and General Preventive Medicine & Public Health or board certification in both Family Medicine & Occupational Medicine. Must have an MPH degree as well as an M.D. or equivalent. Eligible for NYS licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

2-3 years of clinical experience in a PCMH Family Medicine Practice. Track record of successfully leading team on quality improvement projects. Experience with population health focus from a practice, community and/or research perspective. Current or prior training grant or research grant funding.

Responsibilities & Requirements

This individual will assume a leadership role as the Assistant or Associate Director of Clinical Programs, based on academic rank. To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor the candidate must meet the School of Medicine's Criteria for School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion. The individual will provide Family Medicine clinical services as well as being available to assist as needed in Clinical Preventive Medicine. The individual will take an active role in executing our Population Health strategy including seeking funding for these types of initiatives, (e.g. CDC, NCQR, HRSA). The individuals teaching responsibilities will involve precepting Preventive Medicine & Family Medicine residents as well as facilitating ICM and MCS medical students. As a new member of the leadership team, this person's training and knowledge in the fields of Preventive Medicine and/or Occupational Medicine, Public Health & Family Medicine will play an important role in the continued growth of this young department and its contributions to the mission and vision of Stony Brook Medicine and the Renaissance School of Medicine.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: 9/1/2019.
