Clinical Assistant / Associate / Professor

Required Qualifications

MD or equivalent and board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology. Licensure/eligibility for licensure in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of ACGME accredited fellowship in one of the following areas: Critical Care Medicine, Pain Management, Cardiac Anesthesia, or Pediatric Anesthesia. In the area of cardiac anesthesia, Certified in Transesophageal Echocardiography procedure. Experience in general anesthesia, regional anesthesia or in an ambulatory care setting. Candidates for advanced academic standing would be expected to provide evidence of research and academic activities.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The candidate will provide anesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery or other procedures and will provide consultation before and after the anesthetic procedure. The candidate will be actively engaged in the instruction and/or supervision of medical students, resident physicians and certified registered nurse anesthetists. An active role in clinical and/or basic research will be strongly encouraged.

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure). Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
