Assistant/Associate Professor (Multiple Positions)
Required Qualifications
MD or equivalent. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified/Eligible
in Medical Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications
Patient care experience. Interest in leading the development of a clinical and translational
research program in Genitourinary Oncology, Thoracic Oncology or Phase I clinical
trials.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine at Stony Brook University
Cancer Center is seeking an experienced and qualified clinician scientist to lead
the development of a clinical and translational research program in GU Oncology and/or
establish a robust Phase I program. Additional early career physicians are being
recruited to complement the currently established programs in thoracic Oncology and
consultative Hematology. With the recent approval of the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant
to the University and the announcement of the largest gift ever to public higher education
in the State of New York, Stony Brook Medical School is embarking on a transformational
expansion of the biomedical and clinical research enterprise. The investment in cancer
research will include major program development, including the recruitment of a large
number of research faculty and the construction of a new state of the art 240,000
square foot cancer center.
Special Notes
Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions
of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Eligibility for
tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience. To qualify for
tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established
by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure). Anticipated Start Date; As soon as possible.
