Assistant / Associate / Full Professor

Required Qualifications

MD, DO or MD/PhD. Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular disease and/or Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (highest board).

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in heart failure and ventricular assist device management. Experience in clinical, translational or basic research.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Center (HFCMC) and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) programs at Stony Brook University Medical Center are looking for Heart Failure/VAD specialists at the Assistant, Associate and Professor levels. The HFCMC and VAD programs are both award-winning and Joint Commission certified programs with robust clinical, teaching and research opportunities. Leadership options are available. The successful applicant should have outstanding clinical inpatient and outpatient management skills and will be provided teaching and research opportunities alongside a robust cardiology fellowship program. Stony Brook University Medical Center is a 500 bed tertiary care medical state-of-the-art facility, located on the north shore of Long Island, providing cardiovascular care to the 1.4 million residents of Long Island. Long Island provides a variety of living environments ranging from a cosmopolitan style with big city amenities to suburban/small town feel with top notch school systems and quality of life.

Special Notes

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience.  To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).  Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
