Associate/Full Professor

Required Qualifications

The Department of Political Science seeks to hire in the field of American Politics beginning in the Fall 2020. We intend to review applications at the rank of Full or Associate Professor as well as those from advanced Assistant Professors who wish to be considered for a tenured appointment. The department is particularly interested in applicants with expertise in political institutions but will also consider applicants from any subfield of American politics. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited doctoral program. Successful candidates will have a strong record of demonstrated research excellence. Advanced skills in quantitative methods and/or experiments in addition to an established track record of graduate student collaboration and mentoring are highly desirable. Additional duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, carrying on a program of research, and participating in faculty governance at the departmental, college and university levels.





Preferred Qualifications

Specific interests in applicants with expertise in political institutions but will also consider applicants from any subfield of American politics.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities will include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervision of student research and writing, carrying on a program of research, and participating in faculty governance at the departmental, college and university levels.

Special Notes

This is a tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
