Assistant Professor

Required Qualifications

PhD in rhetoric/composition, writing studies or communication with a focus on medical and/or scientific rhetoric and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching first year writing.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Assistant Professor in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric will exhibit a commitment to innovative teaching methods and practices and will pursue a research agenda in medical/scientific rhetoric and communication. Teaching duties will primarily be in first-year writing, upper level writing courses in area of specialization, and graduate courses. 2/2 teaching load; tenure track. Duties will also include mentoring students and actively contributing to Program initiatives. This individual will be dedicated to undergraduate education and to serving the university community.

Special Notes

This is a tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
