The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stony Brook is a top-ranking department with a strong commitment to teaching and research. Currently, for the on-campus degree programs, we offer two undergraduate degrees, the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering and the Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, a Master of Science (M. Sc) and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. Both EE and CE undergraduate programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org. Please read about our Mission and visit our undergraduate and graduate programs homepages for more details
In addition to our on-campus offering, we also have a New York State approved online degree, the Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). The BSEE program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. The program was approved by NY State Education Department in May 2011. The first ABET accreditation visit was in Nov 2014 and the program received formal notification of approval ABET accreditation in Aug 2015. Furthermore, the accreditation action extends retroactively to October 1st, 2013. Hence, all of our graduates, including the first cohort in May 2014, receive the benefits of the accredited program. For more information of the BSEE online degree, please visit the program’s homepage: www.stonybrook.edu/eeonline.
