Alison

Alison Armbruster Russell holds an M.F.A. in dance from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, and a B.A. in political science from SUNY at Stony Brook. She is a native Long Islander, and began her dance training studying classical ballet under the tutelage of Madame Valia Seiskaya. A graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan, Alison has danced throughout Europe with the touring companies of West Side Story, Chicago and Cabaret. In the world of contemporary dance, she has performed nationally and internationally with The Sullivan Dance Project,  FREEFALL (ltd), and Madcap Dance.


In 2005, Alison opened her own studio in Eastern Long Island, Alison Russell Dance Arts. She continues to teach ballet to children and adults, and is also an adjunct professor of dance at Dowling College.
