Vision
Establish a center to drive sustainable competitive advantage; to enable businesses throughout the region to achieve world class operational excellence through the coordination of strategically aligned resources and partnerships.
Mission
Introduce and implement a core model of operational excellence to support regional businesses through a collaborative network of peers, educators, government offices, business/community organizations and training providers.
Goals
- Collaborate with LI businesses and our partner organizations to develop a core model for operational excellence within the region.
- Introduce the Shingo Prize Model and Business Guidelines for Operational Excellence to Long Island companies; encourage their adoption of the framework and support their efforts.
- Create an interactive forum for improved dialogue between business leaders, educators, local government, service providers, community and national organizations on achieving competitive advantage.
Operational Excellence is a systematic way of continuously improving an organization by focusing on customer needs, empowering employees, and increasing value by improving quality, obtaining higher yields and faster throughput, and eliminating waste. We offer a number of opportunities for Lean training:

The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence is named for Dr. Shigeo Shingo, who popularized the Toyota Production System. The Prize Model provides companies with a blueprint to lean transformation and the attainment of operational excellence that benefits businesses of all sizes and sectors, as it drives permanent process improvement to enable them to become and remain competitive.
As regional Ambassador of the Shingo Prize Program, we claim a unique resource:
the support and resources of the Greater Boston Manufacturing Partnership (GBMP), known nationally for their world class training in continuous improvement and the administrator of the Shingo Prize Process in the Northeastern United States.
