Today's competitive environment pits not Company against Company, but Supply chain against Supply Chain. Close relationships, trust, reduced transaction costs and shorter time in meeting customer demands are the keys to successful management of the Supply chain.
This Supply Chain Management course will focus on the changing nature of the buyer-seller relationship, the need to focus on fewer, more reliable suppliers, and ways to develop close ties among the members of the Supply Chain. Students will learn an objective method to evaluate Supply Chain costs that includes not just dollar cost, but total cost of ownership including quality, reliability, and inventory costs. The course will also identify the steps involved establishing a Certified Supplier Program that safely eliminates may of the non-value added steps involved in an adversarial buyer-supplier relationship.

Her expertise is in Supervisory Skills, Quality Improvement, implementing ISO 9001-based Quality Management Systems, AS9100, Lean Manufacturing, Lean Office and business process improvement. Cypress helps clients become more competitive. Joan holds a BS in Computer Science, an MBA in Management and is a frequent speaker at professional organizations.
