A Pragmatic Approach to Psychological, Relationship and Productivity Enhancement

Stress in the workplace leads to reduced effectiveness and, too often, employee burnout. Fortunately, there are ways to manage stress to help people better address their own needs as well as the specific needs of the workplace.

In this three-hour breakfast workshop you will obtain an overview of the physiology of the stress response, the advantage of cultivating positive emotions, and the steps to take to enhance emotional intelligence. Using guided practice, you will learn at least three emotional intelligence practices, plus suggestions for including them in your daily life. We will show how better stress management can enhance emotional competence and yield productivity gains. Participants will be helped with crafting 1-2 personal goals for improvement, and with simple strategies to implement changes.

  • The mind-body connection and its relationship to emotional self-management
  • The relationship between stress and happiness
  • Links between emotional competence and productivity
  • Your personal stressors at work and home
  • Guided practices for at least three simple stress management techniques
  • Techniques to enhance positive emotion
  • How to use taught practices in real-time situations at work
  • A practice plan for use of at least one technique on a regular basis
