Food Safety is Taken Very Seriously

Campus Dining is committed to provide high quality and safe food service. For our customers, safe food service is a matter of trust. That’s why we put significant resources into the food safety program to ensure all associates, vendors, and suppliers perform and operate in accordance with established food safety guidelines and codes. Food safety program procedures include food protection, food temperature, cleaning and sanitation, associate education and training, inspection, personal hygiene, hand washing, audits, and much more to ensure a safe and pleasant dining environment. We have experienced food safety, quality assurance, and purchasing professionals in place to ensure that our very high standards are met. Associates are also trained on food allergies.

Government Food Safety and Sanitation Codes

The Campus Dining food safety program is in full compliance with applicable federal government food safety and sanitation codes and regulations, as well as, all state and local health codes. All Areas of our operation undergo rigorous third-party food and safety audits to ensure the highest industry quality assurance standards are met.

Support is Here for Students

The health and safety of every guest is always Campus Dining Service's highest priority. We want students to know that if a guest reports a suspected food borne illness or instance of adulterated food, we have a process in place that includes alerting and gaining assistance from the University and local health services. As soon as campus management is notified of a problem, immediate action is taken to reach out directly to any affected individuals in order to confirm, research, and address the issue as quickly as possible. Dining services' management and support departments review all food safety protocol procedures. The cooperation of concerned or affected individuals is necessary to ensure the issue is fully investigated and resolved.

We're Here to Listen

Campus Dining Services supports Stony Brook University's Student Voice on Campus Dining Committee which is a group responsible for representing the student body and act as a resource to gather student feedback, communicate changes to meal plan holders, and provide recommendations in an effort to enhance the overall on-campus dining experience. The Campus Dining Service team is here to work with students and the University to identify any gaps and ensure a safe and gratifying dining experience.
