College of Business Undergraduate Student Advisory Board
The Dean's College of Business Undergraduate Student Advisory Board provides a forum for undergraduate students in the College of Business to provide feedback to the Dean and other administrators in the College of Business. This is accomplished through ongoing meetings and open dialogue. The information provided by these students assists in driving change and they act as a sounding board for new initiatives.
Sean Deery is a junior majoring in Business Management, with a specialization in Finance. On campus, Sean serves as a Residence Hall Senator for Gray College on the Advocacy Committee and Regional & Alumni Affairs Committee, student representative for the University Senate Environmental Committee, student representative for the Undergraduate Student Government Sustainability Committee, and is working on a promotional video for the College of Business. Off-campus, Sean is the Finance and Research Associate of the Ecological Culture Initiative of Hampton Bays. Sean graduated from Suffolk County Community College in the Spring of 2017 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration where he earned the SUNY Chancellor’s Award and the Coca-Cola New Century Scholar Award. He was also highly involved in Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society during his time at Suffolk.
Lindsay Geoghan is a junior majoring in Business Management, with a specialization in marketing. This past summer, she participated in the College of Business Study Abroad Program in Greece. She is interested in pursuing a marketing internship and is also exploring the possibility of doing an MBA program right after graduation. Lindsay would also like to travel and see as much of the world as she can. For now, she is focusing on staying grounded and remembering how truly valuable her twenties are.
Cory Haltman is a junior majoring in Business Management, with a specialization in Marketing, and a minor in Journalism.
Cory has interned in the athletic department here at Stony Brook, and has also worked alongside Dr. Gerrit Wolf in the Innovation Center here in the College of Business. Additionally, this past summer he interned at the Vitamin World corporate office in Ronkonkoma.
Outside of the College of Business, he has written for the campus newspaper, The Statesman, and become involved in other programs such as the hall council for his dorm.
After graduation he hopes to help develop ways for brands to learn more about their customers in a mutually beneficial way, rather than the current method of buying consumer data.
Rebecca Hayman is a sophomore majoring in Business Management, with a specialization in Marketing. She is in the Business Honors Program and is a Teaching Assistant for the Introduction to Business course. Rebecca is active on campus with the Commuter Assistants Club, mentoring incoming freshman and transfer commuter students.
Rebecca considers herself an amateur foodie with a love for baking. As a result, she runs her own social media account under the handle @BakeItLikeBecca, where she can concurrently pursue her passion and exercise her marketing skills. After graduation Rebecca hopes to attain employment with a reputable marketing firm, where she will be able to fully utilize her passion, diligence, and creativity.
