Due to higher retention rates of returning students and an influx of new students, Stony Brook University is offering a select group of incoming transfer students residential accommodations at Brookhaven Residential Village on Dowling College’s Brookhaven campus, located approximately 20 miles from the University.
Brookhaven Residential Village is a 289-bed facility, with a hotel-style atmosphere. It features a lobby, comfortable lounge area, game room, fitness center, elevators and a laundry room on each floor. The residence hall offers apartment-style accommodations with double-occupancy rooms. Kitchen areas are equipped with stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, and sinks with ample storage space for student-provided pots, pans, serving ware, etc. The units have individual heating and air-conditioned units, (wired and wireless) Ethernet access, and a cable TV jack in the common area. Phone service is available as an optional service.
Free shuttle transportation will be provided to students between Brookhaven Residential Village and Stony Brook University.
Approximately 200 Stony Brook University students are expected to reside at Brookhaven Residential Village in the 2014–15 academic year. Students who accept this housing assignment will be guaranteed on-campus housing on the Stony Brook campus in the Fall 2015 semester, contingent upon completion of all registration and housing renewal processes by the appropriate deadlines.
