Annual Admitted Students Day 2013
April 12, 2013
This year marks our fourth annual BNL Admitted Student Day. Each year, we have invited a very select group of high-achieving admitted students in the sciences, technology, engineering, and math fields to meet with Brookhaven National Laboratory’s director and researchers, receive a personalized tour of this world-class research facility, and talk with Stony Brook students about some of the unique research opportunities available to undergraduates on campus and at BNL.
This event has proven instrumental in influencing top tier students to choose Stony Brook University for their undergraduate education. Last year, 70 percent of the students who attended BNL Admitted Student Day matriculated at Stony Brook.
This invitation only event is scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2013.
The National Synchrotron Light Source II, currently under construction at Brookhaven National Laboratory is a new state-of-the-art medium energy storage ring designed to deliver world leading brightness and flux. The facility will be able to produce x-rays up to 10,000 times brighter than those produced at the NSLS today.
