Graduate Student Organizations

Graduate students of the Department of Anthropology or the Interdepartmental Doctoral Program in Anthropological Sciences (IDPAS) are not formally organized as such, apart from the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) of Stony Brook University.

Students interested in behavioral ecology meet for a weekly Behavioral Ecology Group (BEG) seminar.

Students interested in evolutionary biology can join the Evolutionary Biology/Paleobiology discussion group (currently organized by Andrew Moore in Anatomical Sciences).

Archaeology graduate students meet at a weekly brown bag seminar.

Students interested in archaeology can also join the Graduate Archaeology Society, which holds regular body meetings and campus-wide events during the school year. Students can join the list-serv by emailing the organization email, graduate.archaeologysbu@gmail.com, or by finding the organization on SB Engaged.
