APA Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns Office
This APA office, which has been in existence since 1975, liaisons with other APA activities dealing with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues, and functions in a number of other supportive ways.

The Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues was founded in 1985 as a Division of the American Psychological Association to represent sexual orientation issues within and beyond the Association.

Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists
The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists (AGLP) is a professional organization of psychiatrists, psychiatry residents, and medical students, which serves as a voice for the concerns of lesbians and gay men within the psychiatric community.  The Association is committed to fostering a more accurate understanding of homosexuality, opposing discriminatory practices against gay men and lesbians, and promoting supportive, well-informed psychiatric care for lesbian and gay patients.  The organization provides opportunities for affiliation and collaboration among psychiatrists who share these concerns.

Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE)
The mission is to foster the growth of daughters and sons of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents by promoting education, support and community, advocating for family rights, and promoting acceptance and awareness that love makes a family.

Consortium of Directors of Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Resources in Higher Education
The combined vision and mission on the Consortium is to achieve higher education environments in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni have equity in every respect. Their goals are to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Office/Centers. 

Dignity/USA
Dignity/USA is the United States' largest and most progressive organization of gay, lesbian , bisexual and transgender Catholics. They serve as a proactive voice for reform in the Church and society, including: same-sex marriages, women's ministry, AIDS ministry, and enforcement of anti-hate crime legislation.

Family Acceptance
This website was created by the parents of a young gay man to offer support, hope, and encouragement for other parents who may be encountering difficulties related to their child's sexual orientation.

Family Acceptance Project
The Family Acceptance Project is a community research, intervention and education initiative to study the impact of family acceptance and rejection on the health, mental health and well-being of lesbian, gay and bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. Results will be used to help families provide support for LGBT youth, to develop appropriate interventions, programs and policies, and to train providers to improve the quality of services and care they receive. 

Family Equality Council 
The mission is to advance the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents and their families through mutual support, community collaboration, and public understanding.

GLBT Alliance in Social and Personality Psychology (GASP)
This group is designed to provide information and support to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender professionals and their heterosexual allies studying personality and social issues.

GLSEN 
The "Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network" works to end this cycle of bigotry in K-12 schools. Through its growing network of 85 chapters in 35 states, GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity

The American Psychoanalytic Association explores sources and reasons for this "permissible" prejudice--the psychological and social bases of homophobia.

Human Rights Campaign
HRC is an American Political Organization to promote equal rights for gays and lesbians. They sponsor "National Coming Out Day" which is becoming increasingly visible. It is devoted to the issues of concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families. 

LGBTQ Classroom Resource 
Designed for college teachers who want to provide LGBTQ-friendly educational experiences for students. This website contains numerous suggestions and resources for doing so.

National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) is a leading progressive civil rights organization that has supported grassroots organizing and advocacy since 1973.

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian and Gays
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.

Straight Spouse Network
Straight Spouse Network (SSN) is an international organization that provides personal, confidential support and information to heterosexual spouses/partners, current or former, of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender mates and mixed-orientation couples for constructively resolving coming-out problems. SSN also offers research-based information about spouse, couple, and family issues and resources to other family members, professionals, community organizations, and the public.
