1.  IS YOUR MAJOR RECORDED ACCURATELY ON YOUR TRANSCRIPT?

It's important to check your transcript on SOLAR to ensure the major you are pursuing is accurately recorded.  Look at the most recent semester under "Program" and "Plan" to ensure your major is correct.  If it is not correct or you are listed as undeclared and are ready to declare a major, please print out a Major Declaration Form available at the Registrar's website, www.stonybrook.edu/registrar, click on "Forms", and visit the Undergraduate Program Director or faculty advisor in your chosen area of interest.  More information on majors, minors, and academic departments is listed at www.stonybrook.edu/aadvising under the "Students" link.  Note that students who wish to pursue majors in the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences, the College of Business, and some Health Sciences Center programs, must meet certain GPA, pre-requisite, and other requirements before being admitted to the major.

2.  WANT TO TRACK YOUR MAJOR ON YOUR DEGREE AUDIT?

Stony Brook has embarked on an important initiative -- adding majors and minors to your degree audit.  This project will be completed over the next few years, but 100 plans (including majors, second majors, and minors) are now live, so check your degree audit on SOLAR.  Note that most audits include ONLY coursework done at Stony Brook University.  If you completed transfer coursework, these will be noted on your audit at this time only if you completed coursework at Suffolk Community College (starting with fall 2011 admits), Nassau Community College (starting with spring 2012 admits), or Farmingdale State College (starting with fall 2012 admits).  Remember to always review your requirements in person with your major department advisor!
