FIRST SEMESTER WARNING –Fall 2013 was your first semester at Stony Brook.
Your academic standing is FIRST SEMESTER WARNING if you earned a first-semester GPA less than a 2.0. Please be aware that an advising block has been placed on your record.
In order to return to Stony Brook for the Spring 2014 semester, you are required to complete ONE of the following two options:
(1) Review the Academic Standing Online Information Session below:
(2) Meet with your assigned advisor in person at the Academic and Transfer Advising Services Office on one of the dates/time listed below.
Both options will help you understand your academic standing level and identify strategies to improve your academic performance. Students may meet with an advisor to discuss their academic standing during the dates and times listed below. Students will be seen on a first-come first-served walk-in basis. There is no need to call the Academic and Transfer Advising Services Office to schedule an appointment.
Please note that all students on First Semester Warning have been assigned a specific academic advisor. Your assigned advisor will reach out to you via email with more information in early January. If you choose to review the academic standing online information session, your hold will be removed, but you will still need to follow-up with your advisor during the course of the Spring 2014 semester.
