Academic and Transfer Advising Services
Our office provides overall communication to Stony Brook undergraduates about academic advising and the evaluation of transfer credits for general education requirements. Helps students develop their academic plans for graduation and works with students in academic difficulty. Evaluates transfer credits and serves as a central communicator regarding academic deadlines, policies, and events to all undergraduates.
Our office advises sophomores, juniors, seniors, and second bachelor degree students in the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, College of Business, School of Journalism and School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences.
Our name has changed! The Transfer office, formerly in room 234 Administration Building, is no longer operational at that location. The staffs of the former Transfer Office and Academic and Pre-Professional Advising Center have merged to form one office, now known as Academic and Transfer Advising Services, E-2360 Melville Library.
Please Note: Pre-Professional advising has moved! Students seeking Pre-health or Pre-law advising should now go to the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, E-3310 Melville Library. (One floor up from Academic & Transfer Advising Services).
