Through collaborative efforts with academic departments and student services, the ASTC enhances, promotes, and develops tutorial and academic success programs, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, student-centered learning environment, which stimulates critical thinking and productive learning. The tutors are trained undergraduate and graduate writing tutors who believe that all writers can improve their writing through dedication, practice, and collaboration. The tutors are committed to helping writers through one-on-one tutoring sessions that focus on each individual writer's needs.
Assists students with disabilities in accessing the many resources of the University. Individuals with visual, mobility and hearing impairments as well as those with hidden disabilities such as chronic medical conditions, psychological, and learning disabilities are invited to make use of the services and equipment available. Individuals with permanent or temporary disabilities are also encouraged to consult with DSS. The DSS office will contact instructors when a DSS student is enrolled in your class and what accommodations are needed for the student to complete class projects and examinations in a timely manner. In addition, the DSS staff supports the interaction between the faculty, students and community agencies.
